Is necrosis a poor damage type to spec around?

I’m playing a mourn watcher warrior. My background faction is also a mourn watcher so from an immersion standpoint that’s kind of cool.
But I notice that a lot of enemies are resistant to necrosis.
Is necrosis a poor choice to fully spec around?
