I‘m about to buy my first Jadons and have some size and material questions

So I‘m currently eyeing some Jadon Hi Rainbow Martens and some polished smooth Jadons, but since the first is the patent leather I‘m a bit hesitant. How long will it take to break them in? And will they last? I rarely buy shoes so I‘m always looking for some that last me for a long time.

And are the Patent good for everyday use?

I already have the Pascal, bought them roughly 6 years ago, and I have a EU 38 (UK 5) and I was wondering if I can get the same size for the Jadons or if they will be smaller? My Pascals fit me with a little bit of wiggle room perfectly.
