Hi y’all! My mum bought me a new set of docs at the start of 2021- specifically the one with yellow stitching and laces. I took pristine care of them, and genuinely cherished the boots; they were comfy and sturdy after all, as well as a gift from my mum, which in my culture holds even more meaning.
In June, I got a job as a fast food manager, and the soles of the shoe literally became smooth and flat in about 3 months. Next thing I knew, the stitching inside the shoe started letting go, and I have chunks of hard leather coming out. And to top it all off, it has a very ✨delightful✨ odour oozing out of it that I havent experienced with my previous docs, despite treating them a lot worse (nature walks, wallhopping, usual rebel teen shit) I left the job in October and have been in retail since, and the damage is only getting worse :(
Is this because of the way fast food just kinda destroyed it with the constant slew of grease, or is it the longevity of the boots getting worse?
