My bad reaction to Doxypep
Post Body

Just wanted to share my experience with Doxypep. I was prescribed Doxypep months ago by my provider. I took it around 48/72 hrs after exposure. After taking it, I had the usual slight nausea. But I was surprised to find itchy hives on my arm and butt cheek. I've taken Doxypep before but the side effects weren't as severe. I've also taken doxycycline years ago and had a bad reaction then. I told my provider about the latest experience and he said "yeah no, you should stop taking it." I'm assuming that I'm allergic to doxy. 😩 This bad case was months ago (maybe December) and I still have the dark marks on my skin (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) from the hives.

Although I'm on Apretude (injectable PReP), I'll have to be extra extra careful.

I encourage folks to try Doxypep. Everyone has different reactions to medication so don't let my experience deter you from taking care of yourself.
