Prime Minister TheNoHeart gave a statement to the press outside of 10 Downing Street
It's never easy to pen out these statements, but I owe it to everyone to give a full explanation, an apology and take action as a result of what's happened.
In politics, you are drawn by passion and limited by practicality. In truth, I couldn't have become Prime Minister at a worse time in my life [M: I've started Grade 11, which where I live, is the most important year in high school academically. In addition to that, my life in general has massively grown in commitments recently, which hasn't helped me be here either. /M] Due to this, the time I had available to attend to my duties as Prime Minister was severely limited, and when I did have time, I lacked the energy and motivation to do them to the best of my ability. In short, my performance was not what it could or should be, and because of that, I'd like to apologize from the bottom of my heart [M: Or lack thereof... haha, jokes! /M]
While I wish I could say to you now that I've perfected my schedule and will be back in full to do the job I was elected to do, I can't, and that's why it's my duty now to start the process of finding a new Leader of the Liberal Democrats, and by consequence of that, a new Prime Minister. I don't believe that I will be retiring in full from the political sphere, but I will certainly be taking a step back for the time being as soon as a replacement is found.
Though a more personal list of thank yous will come later, I'd like to take the time now to thank everyone from along the way, both allies and opponents. For what it was, this has been extremely memorable and an honour to be your Prime Minister. I believe Britain will be left in good hands going forward.
Bless all of you,
Alec.
