Downing Street today released this statement on behalf of Prime Minister DrCaeserMD regarding the resignation of disclosedoak, and the appointment of Trevism as his successor.

On behalf of the Government, I would like to wish disclosedoak all the best for his future away from the frontline of politics, and in whatever it is they choose to move onto next. He has proved a strong leader for the Green Party and as Leader of the Opposition, and while we may disagree on a political level, what is clear is his belief and conviction in what he does has made him a strong asset to the Green Party and his constituents. Only those who have led their party know the burden, but also the honour, of leading, and I hope disclosedoak will reflect on his time in office positively.

I would also like to express my congratulations to Trevism for ascending to his new role. I wish him well, and look forward to seeing him across the despatch boxes soon. However, it worries me that we now have a Leader of the Opposition has consistently advocated for the break up for the United Kingdom through supporting nationalist parties and campaigning on their behalf. I therefore call on the new Leader of the Opposition to abandon their support for nationalist parties in upcoming elections and to join me in making a positive case for the union. Let's unify our country, rather than divide it, and let's get get to work for the benefit of the entire UK.
