Stout Shield vs. Vanguard on a melee Agi hero - How do you decide which?
Post Body

EDIT - I'M AN IDIOT, MEANT POOR MAN'S SHIELD

Talking about melee heroes only, so ignoring the ranged block values.

Poor Man's Shield (550g)

  • 6 agility

  • 100% chance to block 20 damage (hero)

  • 60% chance to block 20 damage (non-hero)

Vanguard (2225g)

  • 6 HP/sec regen

  • 250 HP

  • 70% chance to block 40 damage (anyone)

The way I see it, Vanguard is clearly the "I'm being super bullied" item while Shield is the "I just want a little defense" item. I'm leaning towards Vanguard vs. ranged heroes and Shield vs. melee, but the ~1700g deficit by going Vanguard is not a small thing.

What other factors should you consider when choosing?
