There is an extremely fine line between having a bad game and griefing

Everybody has bad games. Some games people dont do well under pressure, maybe you had a bad matchup, maybe youre on an unfamiliar pick, maybe your ping sprung up in the middle of a game. Losing lane doesn't mean youre griefing and it isn't reportable.

Griefing is ability abuse. Giving enemies advantage purposefully. Blocking your teams camps. Cheating. Running it down.

Giving enemies advantage purposefully.

Lets expand on this one.

This one is pretty unambiguous. Doing something to increase the enemy's standing deliberately and knowingly. This can be something like running it down or feeding a rapier. But it can also be just straight up feeding.

If you have walked at a hero 4 times in the last 6 minutes and died every single time, you are making the choice to walk at them and knowingly die again. Way too many people (especially on reddit) see a lane go 4/22 and immediately try to excuse it and say "it was a bad game". You have a choice of what and where to play, and you are deliberately choosing to do that knowing that you have died the last 4 times in 6 minutes and are deliberately choosing not to actually think about your decision or try to win the game. No self respecting high tier player would look at a performance like that and say to your face you were actually trying.

People who have bad games and are actually trying to win genuinely will think about their decisions. They may overlook a thing or two out of oversight, but a player having a bad game trying to win will not repeat the same mistake countless times in such short periods.

So, no, sorry, if you have died more than once every 2 minutes for the duration of the lane, you absolutely do not have the bare minimum intent to win. You are deliberately choosing not to think and to just do the same thing that has been directly giving the opposing team the advantage for the rest of the game.

This can be extended beyond multiple sources. Example, my alchemist mid last game had a naked battlefury at 22 minutes. If you remove bounties and greevils greed income from them that is less than 140 gpm, which is less than a single small camp and a melee creep a minute. This player is not playing the game, and needs dealt with. Ask yourself, "Could a player who has never played the game before do better with any direction?" If the answer is yes, can you honestly fucking say with a straight face that player is trying to win the game?
