Spending any time in QA will ruin your gaming experience for life. Just as a heads up. There's this issue I've noticed in DotA that has bugged me for ages but for some unknown reason I've decided that today will be the day I actually make a post about it.
Several of the heroes in DotA have objectively visible polygons as part of their hero model. I've made a list of the issues. I've also noticed that there are significantly fewer of these issues with the newer models/heroes. (Which is likely due to changes in artists and hero models designed for Source 1. From the looks of it, those models were created using a simple box modelling technique)
Some of these issues were hard to capture and so if you load these heroes into the hero viewer and look yourself, you will certainly see what I mean. Especially shoulders, the curve, lighting, position and animation makes them a nuisance to try and catch with the snip tool
*Note: There are many many more that I can list but I have chosen to only highlight ones that are so severe as to cast a shadow. As this would technically qualify as a rendering problem.*
*Second Note: I've notice there seems to be something very interesting about how Source handles real time lighting and shadows. Would need to fiddle in the engine to know what's going on here. To see what I mean, select Nature's Prophet in the Hero viewer and watch the shadows that his foliage cast across his body (Was using the Primeval Prophet Set for reference)*
*Third Note: These models have an impressively low polygon count. It's kind of insane. If you don't 3d model, this is how you spot a pro from an amateur. An amateur will use as many polygons as it takes. But a pro will use only as many polygons as is necessary to achieve a surface. This in turn improves the performance of the game as there is less for you PC to do (Although this is likely the cause of the issue as their isn't sufficient topology for the animations. Techies is a particularly good example of this problem)*
Hard to see but Anti Mage's shoulders also have the issue

Naga Syren's Breasts (Can't really avoid this one)

Bonus round - User Interface
This only affects the strategy screen as the item is fully surrounded in the shop menu
