we have all been there..you have a balanced game..and then bam....someone proves to have a shity internet connection and is gone from the game....completely fucking you and your team. so you lose..yeah..

honestly valve needs to change the mmr system to remove loss penalties when you have a teammate abandon. now ovbiously don't fully remove loss penalties or people would take the abandon to avoid an mmr drop. but they need to remove all mmr drop from the players remaining and triple or quadruple the mmr loss from the match on the player who left. this would help keep people in the match. and not completely piss off or dishearten players dealing with a teammate running off
