Storm Spirit.... IS NOT A MID!
Post Body

Now that I have your attention let me start by saying obviously he is a mid hero. But let me ask you a question: Have you tried jungle Storm?

Let go of your mouse Don't click downvote until you've heard me out.

So basically I had a few games where someone would last pick a second mid. Or rage and come mid to steal lane. And rather than argue, I just went to jungle and played from there. Thing is, it really works.

Double Static Remnant medium camps, you aren't Enigma but you can clear camps with a respectable pace.

The thing about picking traditional junglers, is that someone is coming for your booty. And they can mess you up. But the thing is, no-one is looking for a Storm jungle. If the enemy mid doesn't see you there he doesn't immediately tell his 4 to go fuck up your day. And also Storm is really good at fighting 1v1 from level 1 vs the type of heroes that will come gank a jungle. Riki, Pudge, Bounty Storm actually dumps on these heroes when they're alone in the jungle and no-one has a away of TP'ing to come and help them.

The thing is that you have to completely change how you approach transitioning into mid-game. Basically your job is to turn fights around. As such a TP scroll is basically your strongest item.

My build is: Ring of Basilius Tangoes --> Power Treads (Ferry clarities as needed or get a CM)

After this your next item is always Orchid. (even if the game is going bad. Especially if the game is going bad)

The reason for this is, like I said, your job is to turn fights. You're not a traditional Storm. Your job is to watch the map. TP to any fight, even bad ones and make it an absolute ball-ache for the enemy to get their kills. And Storm's skillset is perfect for this. And when playing this way, an oblivion staff is worth more than a soul ring. You want to hit hard and often. With your skill set, it's really easy to pick of targets but more importantly you can shut down the strongest enemy hero. With your burst, mobility and orchid, it's easy to get on top of any hero that's beginning to snowball. Amp damage and blow them up. Even from behind.

Being the jungler if you can trade your life for the enemy that's going to win the game for the enemy. That's worth it.

My plan is usually to then go: Euls Scepter of Divinity --> Linken's Sphere.

This is because Euls gives you respectable mana regen and makes up for the lack of Bloodstone. And when coupled with the Linken's. Killing you is hard. And really enables you to do this job of isolating the priority targets.

The thing is I usually end up having a good enough game to just get the Bloodstone anyway. But Bloodstone is only to be purchased if you're having a runaway game. Otherwise. Eul's Linken's is far superior.

You can't pick this every game. Basically, Jungle Storm is good when the enemy has heroes that rely on spells to fight and can amp your damage against themselves (Bloodseeker, Necrophos, Pugna.) It's also good vs Illusion heroes as you can jump in and turn off their ability to fight (Chaos Knight, Naga Siren, Terrorblade). Just because these are the type of heroes that stand back (isolated from their team) holding onto their casts and waiting for the fight to evolve before deciding to commit. If you can spot them, and take the initiative, you can lock them down, shut them up and even if their team responds to help them, with Linken's and Euls you can force a disengage and then leave.

For some weird reason Dotabuff isn't logging my jungle Storm games (maybe it's too embarrassed for me) but Here

Do you approve Leafeator-senpai?

Disclaimer: Yes I am a trench, normal skill player. But I enjoy trying to find nontraditional builds. And if I can make it work in my tier, I'm sure higher skilled players can make it work in their's. Just try it before you hate me.
