Some time in the last month or two, my Dota 2 has started to freeze for about 3 seconds randomly. It can happen several times per game (it also happens in the menu when not in a game). I lose in-game audio during the freeze but my mouse cursor keeps responding and I can still communicate via mumble. By some miracle, this hasn't gotten me killed yet as far as I can remember. But it has happened in dangerous situations.
I do not have a potato PC. I've got 8 GB RAM, an FX-8320, and a gtx 670. The problem started either with a Dota 2 patch or when I upgraded to Windows 10, I'm not sure exactly when. Changing the active microphone setting did not fix the problem for me. I always keep my drivers up to date.
I'm having a lot of trouble googling the problem and haven't found anything relevant yet. Has anyone had a similar issue and been able to resolve it? One thing I will still try is validating the Dota 2 files and maybe reinstalling it.
