What is fear/EG doing to make lone druid so strong that has been neglected?

EG picked LD for two of their three games in the DAC so far. Before this no one was picking LD, and some people made claims that he was not viable at all in the current meta / patch.
Are the using LD in some new way that makes it work, or did the meta just change?
