[Complaint] Steam uses 7GB of temporary files for last night's 369MB update

Hello everyone,

I hope I'm not the only who frequently gets a "low disk space" warning whenever dota2 is updating.

Most people have a SSD nowadays and while they did get very cheap (in terms of gigabyte per dollar), they tend to be full all the time since they offer that tasty disk speed. This is especially true for laptops with no built-in alternative storage (HDD).

During the last couple of updates running out of disk space on my SSD happened frequently and I kept deleting other stuff on the drive, just to make room for the updates (!). During the patch yesterday I checked the disk usage of the updating process. While only 369mb are being downloaded, 7gigs of temporary files are created. These are being cleaned up after patching is done, but it's still a lot of space that needs to be free at all times, otherwise your dota update is fucked. When you have the workshop tools enabled (which i turned off due to - you guessed it - low disk space), it's even worse.

Does anyone else have this problem? Do you agree? Are you just gonna say "well buy a new SSD then"?
