Harassment in games.
Post Body

Hey Everyone.

I wanted to make a post here because I think this is a fairly serious issue that most of us are aware of in some way or another but we don't seriously think about it.

Heres my issue: I'm a girl.

Anytime I talk in a game everyone knows it. I'm not high MMR but I try to communicate with my team, I try to plan lanes, call out ganks, etc. But every time I open my mouth I get "Are you a girl?" or "wow your voice is so annoying." or "Can I friend you?" or a host of other things. The worst is when I'm playing less then my best and I get told a slew of sexist things like "get back in the kitchen" or people calling me a bitch.

I know this is online and I Know maybe I shouldn't care as much, but man, all I want to do is play, I don't want to think about being a girl and how much different I am than dudes, I don't want to worry about harassment. This my more or less my only escape from Sexism and Harassment in the real world.

So I'm asking, Please: If you see someone else saying something like this, tell them to cut it out. Don't listen to people who call you a white knight. Lead by example. If you're on a team with a girl, don't even bring it up, don't mention it. It doesn't even matter.

Thanks.
