My wife needs to get to her sister asap. She lost her husband suddenly. They are 1200 miles away. I can't take off work for a week to drive her plus expenses. My finances aren't to the point that I can spend that kind of money. My wife found her sister's 4 years ago, she didn't know they existed for 52 years. They have been trying to make up for lost time and she's gotten real close to them. She wants to be there for support and I understand but feel guilty for nor having the means to get her there. Flights are expensive, out of the 4 airlines that offer bereavement flights only one Flys to that part of the country, and the discount didn't help compared to online booking services. My daughter and mil were trying to help too but we're all strapped financially. My last ditch effort is to ahem....... post and hope that there's help available somewhere, somehow. It's really working on my wife's emotional state as she's just gotten past a manic episode. If anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated and i will foreward pertinent information at that time.
