Should I worry about lead in Chinese-made donabe?
Post Body
I discovered donabes while exploring rice cooking options. There are some inexpensive ones on Amazon.
I assume Japan-made products are the gold standard. But the price point of China-manufactured donabes is attractive for a beginner (around $35).
I know vintage pottery can be unsafe. And it sounds like lead, cadmium and arsenic could be problematic, especially with unglazed pottery.
Anyone dive deep on safety before making a purchase?
