The mop head broke off the handle during closing last night. Apparently the part where the two screws go in broke, so it was useless. I wasn't on floors so I didn't get a close look. The driver on floors did they best they could with the deck brush and the shift lead left a note for the GM.
Now the shift lead is telling me that another AM is making a huge deal out of how all three of the closers should have known to use a broom handle. Are they seriously interchangeable? The broom handle is threaded to screw directly into the broom head. The mop head attaches to its handle with two small screws on the side and connects to pre-positioned holes in the handle. I can't double check or take a picture right now because it's actually my day off.
Honestly, this is the first time in four years I've ever seen a mop handle break, so I'm not sure why I would know what I was supposed to do. It seems more like a miserable B- just amplifying a non-issue that I shouldn't even be thinking about on my day off. But still just really curious. Are the handles interchangeable and is that common knowledge?
