Transportation from Santo Domingo airport to Punta Cana

I have flight credits I need to use by the end of November, and we would have to fly into Santo Domingo. I'd like to go to Punta Cana however to the resorts there. (Unless anyone knows anywhere by Santo Domingo.)
Does anyone have any recommendations for reliable transportation to and from the airport? Preferably private transportation. If anyone has any websites or knows of any companies. Perhaps it would be better/cheaper to rent a car?
