Emulate tilt without shake

Trying to emulate tilt for Mario Galaxy by mapping it to a control stick. Whenever I move the stick too quickly it emulates a shake which makes Mario jump during the manta surfing sections.
Is there any way to keep the tilt from causing shake? I still need shake to be available during these sections so I cannot outright disable it.
