Make-It Blocks ≠ Legos?

Has anybody ever build anything using the Dollar Tree version of Legos? In all seriousness, the quality is mid, tends to fall off from the actual Legos, when compared to the durability & quality to the real thing. The real question, How legal is this? Furthermore, how many mid quality brands/companies, do this too, sell imitation Legos??
