I really want to know if any other stores also receive 2 Dc trucks a week? Since last November we’re been receiving 2 trucks and with no extra hours for it. Our regional manager at the time wanted us on 2 trucks to help keep our back room empty. But it didn’t the opposite. We would lose 2-4 freight shifts a week to unload the trucks. And with only a day between the trucks we could never catch up with it. We’re still having issues with that now especially with the holidays. My store manager says if we get 2 trucks a week in the new year she will be quitting because she just can’t keep up with it.
I get two trucks a week and am small store. It’s easy to get backed up and you have to always be on top of it. It is consistent pushing to get cases out just to have room to get cases in but it can be done if delicate it. Have a plan and work it. Tell your DM you need hours to get freight out. If you need more hands on deck reach out to other stores. Two from my store are always going in to other locations to help when they can and is needed. There’s days before truck and I have no freight workers and not enough empty u-boats and back room I’m trying to empty. It’s can be stressful but we get through it one way or another so don’t stress it too much. Just do best you can, ask for help and have a plan prior to truck day
