To whoever recommended this harness in a past post, I would hug you so hard if I could. I tried it for the first time tonight on my five month old golden who goes back and forth between a perfect loose leash walker to an insane puller for leaves flying in the wind, squirrels, other dogs and people, and generally anything moving. Our walks have been so stressful for me having to stay so vigilant, not knowing if he’ll be cool and sit and stay calm like we’ve been practicing or if he’ll lunge and bark and pull me towards whatever he’s excited about. Our walks are me constantly looking ahead and around us to scan for dogs and people and birds and squirrels so I can be one step ahead of him and have him sit and stay calm and watch them go by. Tonight wearing this dream harness, he stayed by my side the entire time. There was no yanking me to get to something he wanted, if he walked a little too far and felt the slightest tension in the harness, he came right back to my side. There was one instance where he got excited seeing another dog before I realized the dog was there (it was a night walk) and he did his usual lunge and pull but he stopped immediately and although he continued to bark, a gently little tug from me got him to follow me away from the dog. I walked tonight with him in a state of awe and bliss and gratitude for this harness. Tonight was the first time we were able to share the sidewalk with someone walking by and my little guy not lunging and barking at them wanting to say hi. I looked at my puppy and thought “who the heck are you??” I felt like crying after our walk, I had no idea our walks could be this smooth and stress free, I thought I had months and months more of training to do with him to get to this point. I’ve already texted all my dog friends who have pullers and told them about my experience tonight. I’m gonna go cry tears of joy now. 🥹🥹🥹
