When our dog sees a squirrel out the window, she goes into a trance almost. She wants to chase it so she howls and whines, but once this starts it seems there is NOTHING we can do to redirect her. She won't respond to her name, if we pull her away she will run right back to the spot, and food and treats have no effect. She loves the smell of beef and its the only food she will beg for, and I guarantee a steak held right next to her face during this wouldn't even snap her out of it. How can we redirect her to correct the behavior?
