Hello !
In two weeks my dog will be going to his first obedience class! He is a 1 year old mutt who already knows some basic commands however has issues focusing outdoors and around other dogs. A lot of people have told me I could probably just work with him on my own but I really would like a professionals help because while I've had dogs I've never trained one by myself.
My main question is what should I be expecting ? My main worry is my dog is very interested in other dogs and I won't be able to get him to focus on me at all and he will ruin the class with his barking and wanting to play.
I've mentioned this to the trainer and she explained that this behavior is something that is not only normal but something they work on all the time.
So tell me what actually happens at a class and is my dog going to be the bad kid?
