I have a 10yo feild type beagle that is my ESA. I worked with hundreds of dogs and trained working dogs of various types but was spoiled when it came to house/manor training. So as I stated my ESA is 10 and I'd like to start looking for another in the next year or so. He's got the lazy, sleep all the time, hound traits more than most other beagles and while I've worked with high energy dogs, it's just to much in my everyday life. He has also been a very quick learner. He knows ~35 commands and picked them all up in 2 or 3 uses. So I'd like to look at a 6mo- 2 yo for my next dog. My reasoning is hoping that my older dog will rub off on it a little before he goes and also so I have longer with the new dog, It's young enough to mold without a history of bad experiences, yet old enough to be past or just about past the puppy stage of chewing, house breaking ect.... Also probably looking at another beagle... possibly another similar sized breed with traits I desire. What are the chances of behavior imprinting?
