Tie out safety-gardening in front yard-hands free

I'd love my pup to be able to come outside in the front yard with me while I pull weeds, etc. She is not mature enough to stay there with me. I can't hold a leash and she pulls way too much for something wrapped around my hands or body. Is a short tie out with her harness an okay way to keep her nearby? She will never be outside alone.
