Okay am I the asshole? My mother and father-in-law booked a trip for the family to do a trip to Disney World this year. I've been looking forward to it for a long time, recently I'm having second thoughts. The trip means my husband and I will leave our 3 dogs that are basically our babies to be cared for by friends or strangers at a boarding facility for a week. While I'm way more comfortable with a friend watching them, It hurts to think of leaving them for a week. That and even though they would be cared for by a friend, you know no one will care for them like you personally would. Does it make me an asshole for wanting to back out of the trip? We've offered to pay my husband's parents back the full tickets and hotel cost but they won't take it and we feel like everyone is judging us for not wanting to go anymore. We also have many reservations about Covid because I had an almost fatal reaction to the vaccine, so I only had the 1st vaccine, and we're thinking, "lord knows what will happen if I actually catch covid" there's so much making us uncomfortable about going. We're just thinking, "if we go and I catch covid and get really sick or possibly die was it worth it for a vacation, or if one of the dogs is seriously injured or sick or dies, was it worth it for a vacation? Are we the assholes though for wanting to cancel?
- Also my husband never wa ted to go, he hates crowds and traveling lol so he is fine and happy to not go.
- Also us not going won't affect anyone else not going on the vacation, everyone else will still go we just wouldn't be there.
