Dog owners rarely train their dogs properly

Post Body

I have never been a big fan of dogs. Since the day my small dog (~30 lbs) was attacked by a pit bull that jumped a fence, I have had an inherent distrust of dogs (I was 15 at the time, 27 now.)

I have many dog owner friends who claim their dogs are “friendly,” but are “afraid” of strangers and might bite. WTF. If your dog is prone to biting people don’t bring it around. JFC.

My latest encounter with a dog just hammered in how much I dislike them. I have a cat that I let outside, this afternoon I was startled by my neighbor’s dog running onto my front porch. I quickly realized that it was chasing my cat who likes to sun bathe in my porch, so I rushed outside to address the situation. Luckily, my cat evaded the dog and got away. The dog proceeded to run around my property looking for my poor cat. Then, just to hammer in the point, the dog took a huge shit in my yard.

My cat still hasn’t come home (he has a bell fastened break-away collar), and I got my neighbor to take the dog home. This whole experience just confirmed how much I dislike dogs. If you want own a dog please train it and look after it.
