It occurred to me that I've had no less than half a dozen romantic relationships over the last decade that have ended, in some major part, because of dogs. One woman refused to get her dog properly de-flead, and I got tired of getting eaten alive every time I went to her house, so I bailed. Another woman had a dog with "pica" (would eat literally anything), and after the third of fourth cancelled night out or trip together because of a swallowed sock and emergency vet visit, I finally bailed. Another woman had a wiener dog that wouldn't stop barking, whining, or involuntarily peeing when said woman and I would have intimate sessions, so I bailed. Another woman lived in an 800 square foot residence with an un-housebroken Great Pyrenees and second, smaller dog, and the place smelled so bad that I bailed. You get the picture. I HAVE dated some women who had dogs, and it worked out kinda okay, but even those relationships had a major component devoted to getting home early to let the dog out, postponing trips because boarding was too expensive, etc. And I seem to live in a city where everyone has or feels obligated to get a dog. Really, there's no escape
