How do I get my young pup to adjust to sleeping in his crate at night?

My family just adopted a 2-3 month old puppy today. As Iām writing this, he has been howling in his crate for the better part of the night. I was wondering if there are any tips or tricks to help better aclimate him to sleeping in his crate without disturbing the rest of the house with his whining?
