Why is my male pup obsessed w smelling and licking (!!😬) crotches

Hello! I have a 1yo intact male English mastiff. I've never had a male dog before. He is tall enough to be easily crotch level with anyone. He is obsessed with burying in face in our crotches and licking! He has also started pulling out clothes from our laundry basket and slobbering on it. Thankfully he has not eaten any clothes. Is this normal and will go away once he is neutered? It is this a male dog behavior that eases down as he gets older and matures more? He is a pretty chill guy otherwise, just obsessed with our smells.
