Hello! My husband and I are 1st time puppy owners. Our dog is 3 months old and we have been trying to crate train him. He is really well behaved when we are home but when we need to go to work and leave him in the crate he always goes #1 and lately also #2. I know he is very young and may not have full bladder control but he can get through the night without needing to go out no problem. I leave for work at 8am and take him out around that time, my husband comes home during his lunch at 12 and lately there is always poo in the crate. I come home at 2pm on my lunch with a pee and sometimes a poo. Then at 5:00 we both get home to there always being a poo and/or a pee. We don’t know if maybe we should change his eating times (currently 6am, 12pm, 6pm) to better time his bowel movements with our lunch breaks. We have done the thing where they recommend his space in his crate be really small but he just doesn’t care if he has to lay in his poo (he just stomps all over it). Looking for recommendations on helping him understand that his crate isn’t a bathroom. Thanks!

Try feeding twice a day. If you do, don't leave food or water in the crate. If you don't, then good job.
