I have recently had an uptick in our walks. Idk if it’s because I’m getting ready for winter and realize that we won’t be walking that much soon or if I just really am enjoying selling quality time with my pooch! Today we walked almost 11 miles without me realizing it. My dog is tuckered out (understandably) and it made me think that maybe that was way too much. Sorry if this is an obvious question! This is my first dog!
For reference, before all of this, we were walking anywhere between 3-5 miles a day and we have almost always done that for the past 7 months (when I first got him). In the beginning, I realized that his cutoff point was about 4 miles, but we slowly moved that up. He is an almost 3 yo bernadoodle, weighs about 50 lbs and ALWAYS wants to be outside walking. But I obviously want to not put too much on the guy! If this makes me a bad dog owner, I am completely fine with changing my habits. I love him and just want the best for him! I googled this, obviously, and I got mixed results. Which is why I turn to strangers for advice.
