DAE constantly feel super drowsy in the late afternoon and usually end up nodding off, despite that I might have had adequate sleep the previous night?
Post Body

I travel across time zones frequently and once I’m entirely adjusted, this tendency reappears. No matter how much sleep I’ve had, from around 5:30pm-ish, I start to feel sluggish and drowsy and usually would end up taking a nap.

My guesses on why this is a thing are:

  • The amount of sunshine declines in the late afternoon and my/our body responds to that by reducing activities/producing certain chemicals (?)

  • It’s about an hour or longer before dinner, and as blood sugar level drops my body starts to process things slower to conserve energy (?)

DAE have similar experience and how do you combat drowsiness during the late afternoon? thx
