What type of manager doesn’t at least go and talk to the umpires about it? It was pretty blatant by Machado that he was trying break up the throw by running so inside the basepath. It’s a subjective call so why wouldn’t he at least go out and ask the umps to at least discuss it?
He diverted from his lane by 4/5 feet though. I can’t really see how that’s not blatant enough to call.
Established a lane and then proceeded to run in a “V” to purposefully interfere with the throw. It’s a subjective call by the umpires, but I can’t comprehend how this isn’t blatant enough to call.
My chagrin should be directed at the umpires for not seeing this then, not Dave.

Maybe my ire should be directed at the umpires then for not calling it. He was at least a foot inside the grass. Blatant attempt to interfere with the play. Arod even said that he’s never seen that play not called before. Jeter was confused as to why it wasn’t at least discussed too.
