Good deal?

There’s a 2008 4x4 with 92k miles for $9800 near my house. I personally own a 2013 RAM 1500 and have loved it, but we’re looking at something smaller and cheaper for my stepson who will be 16 in 6-7 months. We figure this would be something a little smaller and more manageable for a beginner, and won’t kill us on the payment over 2-3 years.
Any thoughts or tips?
