Speaker size dilemma

2003 Quad cab with factory infinity system. I think the front and rear speakers are 6-3/4 as I have tried a 6-1/2 speaker and it will not line up with the mounting holes of the adapters.
I can find some 6-3/4 speakers for about $67/pair from crutchfield and are 2ohm like factory.
Show me what you got or how you changed over to another size as the door openings are huge as even the 6-1/2 speakers can't mount in them without the spacer adapter.
