The mental health crisis in the US and the law enforcement left to pick up the pieces (2020)

Some troubling times indeed. We need drastic political reform and ASAP if we are to make a meaningful difference in the average person's life and keep from destroying the world through climate change

Ohhh it's just another issue in these troubling times, that's all

In some instances unfortunately yes, and this is why we desperately need change, before more people needlessly lose their lives from preventable causes. There need to be way more and varied levels of mental health care across the country available to all, and the police could definitely use more training on how to deescalate the situation.

Yeah I think most if not all do, and this is addressed in the video, but the issue is basically that there isn't enough staff, beds or money at these mental health institutes to accommodate the demand.

Absolutely, crony capitalism is the root cause of a lot of the problems we are seeing. It bothers me that Exxon knew about the impact that fossil fuels have on climate change before everyone else. Their own scientists discovered the data, but they obviously make a lot of money from keeping the status quo so why would they want to influence change? So they kept it to themselves and support denialists.

But I want to add that not all capitalism is bad, we need a mixture the best of both worlds of capitalism and socialism

Climate change is responsible for homelessness when it creates climate refugees from destroying people's houses, whether that be from a hurricane or a fire, or even making the climate they live in virtually unlivable through drought or whatever. But it doesn't have too much to do with the problems we see with mental health in the United States right now. I just mentioned it because I see it as another issue in these troubling times.
