Thoughts on the AKC
Post Body
The Doberman was originally bred as a working/protection breed. Shouldn’t the show standard then reflect that by awarding dogs that are muscular, intimidating, and athletic while looking capable of protecting its owner? Most of the AKC shows I’ve been to have favored sleek and “pretty” dobermans, basically a Black and Tan whippet, that look underweight and incapable of protecting much of anything. Another reason why I am such a fan of Euro lines over American.
