Just had an idea for an NPC, and wanted input from the hivemind.
TL:DR an NPC who can give lore about people, places and things in my world
So, imagine, the PC's are delving in a dungeon, and find an undead (I'm thinking either complete skeleton wearing robes and all, or something like sentient ghouls from Fallout) who has been chained away in Lord Whoever's dungeon, doing his taxes, keeping his books, and reading books in a huge library (what else does he have to do with his days?) and just is a walking, talking fountain of trivia.
Discuss, ad nauseum....
