Feat decision: Alert vs Resilience(Dex)

Fighter(cavalier)12/barb3 picking up fighter12 feat.
Character is PAM Sentinel with Hold the Line from Cavalier, so field control
Dex is 15.
Is it more optimal to take alert for the 5 to initiative, or to take res(dex) to get 1 initiative plus prof in dex saves.
On the one hand, a guarantee to significantly quicker initiative to position myself early in combat, on the other hand dex saves and still a 1 to initiative.
Feels like a pretty even choice to me so I'm seeking input from the hivemind.
