Be not Me: Tiefling Rogue and others who're unimportant

Be playing a homebrew campaign where Arcane magics are outlawed unless controlled by the state and necromancy is completely evil. Be arrogant Wizard studying necromancy anyway because he wants to. Have just killed a Night Hag in her lair. Enter next room full of magical items. See Skull glowing under detect magic. Think "Oh a Necromantic Focus, I need that before anyone else sees it and destroys it" Pick up skull and attempt to hide in robe. MFW skull was trap setting off fireball. MFW said fireball knocks wizard unconcious.MFW I crit fail my Death Save. Then as icing on the cake the Tiefling who had just joined the party shortly before the battle instead of healing me or removing me from the now burning room takes my bag of holding and leaves. Then before anyone else can get in the room to help me up the fire reaches me (DM rolled to see if it would spread to me...it did) I die.
