Be me, 5e
First time DM
Party of 5, Warforged Warlock/Paladin named Kamal, Bullywug Rouge named Salvador, Kenku Druid named Silly Strungle, Tabaxi Warlock named Grubbles, and Slimefolk Cleric named Alfredo
The party is the definition of the band of misfits just by looking at them
Party is informed by a detective in the local town that there is a skilled hunter that had gone insane and committed a few murders.
Sent to a local hermit’s cottage who is highly suspected to be harboring this hunter.
Arriving there they begin to drill the hermit for information
After finding himself unable to get them to leave, the hermit reveals himself to be a group of undead.
A ghost possessing the body of a zombie with a shadow disguising as the shadow casted by the zombie.
Difficult fight ensues.
The ghost has a Horrifying Visage ability that if the player fails the save, they are frightened but if they fail the save by more than 5, they age by 1d4x10 years.
Strungle is affected by this ability and crit fails.
He ages by 40 years
He is currently 21 years old
Kenku’s maximum lifespan is 60 years
We all realize this, table just stares at each other with blank expressions
The player who played Strungle is NOT happy, but I just laugh
“This is some bullshit out of Metal Gear Solid 3”
Whole table erupts into laughter and he makes a new character
Another funny note that the Bullywug character was a child at the age of 6, he aged 30 years and is now a big man. I’m not too familiar with player kills, so is old age kind of a rare way to kill a PC?
