side quest turns into the games focus.

Our DM (3.5) told us we would be playing an artic/mountainous campaign. The focus was going to be surviving the cold winters, natural disasters, and protecting a small settlement from riots, monsters and typical orcs/bandits

One player decided she wanted become an assassin and kill the captain of the guard/militia of the major city before we left for the Settlement. We were all arrested immediately and have not left the (Main City).

Now instead of trying to survive the winter's campaign, we've gone 2 games, (3 in game weeks) of being prisoners; this includes fights with other cell mates, riots vs the guards, roll call lights out inspections, and many failed attempts of picking or cell door...... what's really bad is our druid is very forest/nature built and were stuck in a urban prison so he's going thru withdraws
