Is this a Geas thing?

So Geas says that the spell takes no effect of the command would result in death. It also says that the spell charms them for 30 days. And since charmed creatures can’t attack the charmer, and geas is one of few charm spells that doesn’t say it ends if you do something harmful to them, does that mean they just can’t fight back in a way that causes harm (even if you attack)? Leaving them only the options of running away or subduing you?
