So i was designing an encounter for my players in the near future and noticed/thought of something interesting. Glyph of Warding says that you can inscribe the glyph either upon a surface (such as a table or a section of floor or wall) ... If you choose a surface, the glyph can cover an area of the surface no larger than 10 feet in diameter... So heres what it thought. If a necromancer had access to this spell and spent 1 hr a day with a skeleton and insribe the basic 5d8 kaboom glyph on the surface of the skeletons bones they would essentily give that skeleton the Death Burst ability (if you set the glyph to go off when the skelton dies after it has been animated). Now this would make a clever necromacer super scary. Not only do they have a literal army at their disposal but when 1 member of the hoard dies it exsplodes doing 22(5d8) - 49(11d8) dmg upon their death. not only that but if there are multiple Gylphed Skeletons this could lead to a massive chain exsplotion which could easly wipe out both the hoard and the Adventurers super fast. Just a thought.
