How to find a person in D&D?

So I’m playing a tiefling rogue (in a human family, there was a cursed bloodline) and is looking for his older sister who wanted to go adventuring. In my backstory,this happened around 7 years ago, and now he’s an adventurer, but there’s a problem. How do you find someone in the D&D world? I think there’s a spell called locate person, but only in 1000ft. So is there anything I can do to help look for the sister?
