Last week my players managed to survive their first major boss battle by the skin of their teeth, barely 60hp between the 6 of them. So at the end, when they were quickly looting the Etterkin (essentially modified Ettercaps, the usual more arms and punches) nest they found a small obsidian dagger with a opal embedded in the hilt which they identified as the wren, one of a pair of daggers that allows their wielder to teleport between the two. Now any experienced player/DM knows that this is 100% bait. No if, ands, or buts about it. This the most obvious trap in the book. So, we end our session that night because it was midnight and everyone (including me) was mentally whipped form a 3.5 hr. fight. The next morning our game discord server is going off the hook because the party was plotting how to retrieve the other half of the pair. I was dying with laughter reading everything they were planning to try. It made me so happy that my little plot hook got swallowed whole and the entire party was engaged and plotting against me trying to figure out a loop whole. I can wait for this week. LOL
