I've been thinking recently about making caster-friendly subraces for races that aren't traditionally suited for the role, particularly half orcs.
Obviously there's nothing wrong with either a) playing a half orc caster who's a little on the slow side or b) just getting lucky rolling stats. But more than just mechanically, I feel like there is a gap in the market for some caster orc subraces, for everyone that wants to play a Thrall or Guldan type. The following are my attempts, I'd love to hear some feedback.
Half Orc (Shaman Ancestor) • 2 Wisdom • 1 Constitution • Darkvision • Proficiency in Insight • Innate spellcasting • Level 1: Druidcraft cantrip • Level 3: Speak with animals once per day • Level 5: Augury once per day
Half Orc (Witch Doctor Ancestor) • 2 Charisma • 1 Constitution • Darkvision • Proficiency in Intimidation • Innate spellcasting • Level 1: Thaumaturgy cantrip • Level 3: Bane once per day • Level 5: Augury once per day
